Treatment Information

Intense Pulsed Light for the Face

During Intense Pulsed Light, a hand piece is used to deliver a series of gentle pulses of intense pulsed light to the skin. The IPL laser energy bypasses the outermost layer of skin and is absorbed by the pigment and vascular irregularities in the deeper tissue of the skin.

Following treatment, it is common for pigmented areas to darken slightly before fading. A few days after the IPL treatment, skin color will become more uniform and will continue to improve with subsequent treatments.

Depending on the skin condition treated, a series of five or more IPL laser treatments may be recommended at three to four week intervals.

Intense pulsed light therapy is most commonly used to treat:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Décolletage
